Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity
  • Participates in Cardiology in-patient care and in-patient consultation services
  • Participates in Fellow and private faculty clinics
  • Supervises and teaches students, residents and fellows in both in-patient and outpatient care
  • Participates in academic activities in the areas of education, clinical care and research
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Exhibits teamwork orientation and acts as a team player
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibilities
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Licensed in Texas, or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Board Certified in Cardiology or successful completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Cardiology
  • Candidate must be capable of teaching Medical Students, Residents and Fellows
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or Higher
