Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Position Description:
  • Serve as the Program Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery Fellowship Program
  • Establish educational/surgical curriculum for fellows, residents and medical students
  • Work closely with laparoscopic faculty and community physicians to maintain the fellowship program
  • Work towards establishing a Center for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery
  • Inpatient and outpatient case management, gynecological surgery, labor and delivery coverage at night with limited call
  • Participation in teaching activities with residents, interns and medical students
  • Development and participation in research activities
  • Involvement in hospital and university committees
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates Professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
* M.D./D.O.
* Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Obstetrics/Gynecology residency program
* Successful completion of fellowship in minimally invasive gynecological surgery (MIGS), gynecologic oncology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery or reproductive endocrinology and infertility, or equivalent experience
* A minimum of 4 years' independent practice post-fellowship experience
* Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
* Eligible for Texas medical license and appropriate medical staff appointment
* Documented clinical and scholarly expertise in MIGS
* Educational and administrative experience
  • Basic research experience
  • Experience and demonstrated interest in education of residents and/or medical students
  • Regional or emerging national recognition for the rank of Assistant Professor or Higher
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills
