Respite Care Provider

Overview:

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is an international, ISO 9001:2015 Certified, CMMI Maturity Level 3 Rated full service provider with more than 31 years experience in the Federal, military, and commercial marketplaces. SRI is looking for compassionate health care providers to provide in-home respite care for Active Duty Military Families who have a family member with a disability, a developmental need, or a chronic illness.

Position Location: Ft. Bliss, TX

Respite Care Provider (RCP), Level 3

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and controls disruptive, tantrums, or non-compliance behavior
  • Assists Exceptional Family Members (EFMs) with daily living skills such as bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting/positioning, and dressing
  • Gives assistance to clients who have conditions such as asthma, seizures, diabetes and those who need special assistance with food intake
  • Provides supervision to ensure the safety of the EFM
  • Interacts positively and communicate effectively with the EFM, family members, and with other support staff members
  • Prepares written reports and documentation of the assigned EFM's needs and irregularities

RCP 3 Wage Rate:

  • $17.29

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education or training in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or relevant field of study to respite care (ABA Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing, etc.)
  • Possession of technical knowledge, skills, experience, or training with special needs clients.
  • Related Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Designation as LPN or related certifications preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience working with special needs children, youth or adults
  • Plus the minimum requirements listed for all positions as noted below

Respite Care Provider (RCP), Level 4

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Performs the duties of a Level 3 Respite Care Provider
  • Must have the necessary technical skills and abilities to meet the physical and safety conditions of the EFM and assist with conditions such as severe continuous seizure activity, tube feeding, suctioning of tracheotomy, and life threatening or chronic conditions requiring frequent hospitalization or treatment encounters, which require extensive family involvement in care giving.

RCP 4 Wage Rate:

  • $23.29

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study such as nursing, early childhood education, special education, and elementary education (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
  • Designation as RN or related certifications is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience working with special needs children, youth or adults
  • Plus the minimum requirements listed for all positions as noted below

Minimum Requirements for RCP Level 3 & 4 Positions:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have current certifications in CPR and First Aid
  • Possess current Tuberculosis test
  • Must be able to pass criminal background checks
  • Must obtain favorable State Child Abuse Registry Check results
  • Must obtain favorable National Sex Offender Check results
  • Must obtain favorable Child Care National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
  • Must obtain favorable Installation Records Background Check results
  • Have reliable transportation to the EFM's home
  • The ability to assist in the moving, positioning, and/or lifting of children and/or adults of varying physical abilities
