KFOX14-TV, in El Paso, Texas, has a great opportunity for a Breaking News Reporter for our four hour morning newscast. You will deliver breaking news on both a national and local level from our "News Now Desk." This position requires a high-level of multitasking. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Gathering news affecting the community
- Preparing story items for presentation in the newscasts
- Anchoring multiple live reports from the News Now Desk during AM News
Required skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- A minimum of two (2) years of anchor/reporter experience at a commercial television station is required
- Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy
- The ability to communicate effectively
- Basic computer knowledge/word processing skills
- General knowledge and interest in local, national, and world news
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, and emerging social media
- A bachelor’s degree with a major in journalism is preferred
This position is full-time and will require working a flexible schedule that may include holidays.
