  • Overview

    BRTRC Federal Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our US Army customer. This is an onsite position at Fort Bliss, Texas. Travel to other performance locations CONUS may be required.


    • Perform system design, the physical and logical architecture, in which systems work together
    • Develop and integrate the prototype system for various platforms with integrated Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) equipment
    • Produce an assessment of system components (weight, cooling, power, transportability, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Cosite, etc.) to ensure systems can be built and determine/identify any trade-offs
    • Support the user evaluation of the prototype system in an operationally relevant environment, and update the architecture and system designs in response
    • Develop, document, and recommend mechanical and electrical hardware solutions or improvements to the system
    • Provide recommendations on material purchasing to support systems integration activities
    • Research and prepare draft and/or finished engineering presentations, reports, process studies, or technical information used for program reviews, design reviews, and proposal activities


    • Current DoD security clearance
    • A bachelor's degree in a specialized professional engineering curriculum plus one full academic year of graduate education in the specialized field; or a bachelor's degree in a specialized professional engineering curriculum plus 3 years of applicable experience; or, a bachelor's degree in a professional engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience with the design, development, and integration of Army Tactical C4ISR systems and vehicle platforms
    • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues during design, fabrication, assembly, and integration phases
    • Ability to develop system of systems integration plans to include developing modification designs for new equipment installation. Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
